Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with secondary endorsements in Spanish (K-12).
• Experience teaching World Language at the high school level preferred.
• Ability to plan and implement curriculum aligned with district standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan and instruct students on District and state standards aligned curriculum.
• Develop lesson plans and goals meeting District expectations.
• Enrich or modify lessons and materials to meet individual student needs and progress.
• Conduct formal and informal assessments and interpret data to guide instruction.
• Review student progress, maintain records, and develop intervention strategies.
• Communicate progress verbally and in writing with parents and students.
• Collaborate with grade-level/department colleagues to plan instruction across classrooms.
• Meet with support staff to discuss individual student needs and interventions.
• Assign work and provide feedback to student teachers or volunteers.
• Participate in district teams or committees and provide feedback as liaison.
• Set clear classroom expectations and manage environment with positive supports.
• Collaborate to enhance curriculum and district objectives.
• Establish a safe atmosphere and model positive behaviors.
• Enforce school policies and participate in staff development.
• Engage in events outside regular hours such as orientations and conferences.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
