Job summary

UW Credit Union is hiring a Spanish Bilingual Personal Banker (internally Spanish Bilingual Financial Specialist) to serve members in the Madison area. Base pay plus a $1.25 per hour Spanish bilingual premium accompanies this role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of customer service and/or consultative sales experience.
• Demonstrated analytical, accuracy and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn a wide range of knowledge and continue to learn in a robust feedback environment.
• Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships and provide top-notch service.
• Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, coachability, and collaboration in a changing environment.
• Natural leadership and influence among team members.
• Proficiency with personal computer and office software.
• Must obtain and maintain Notary Public certification in accordance with state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Start the day at your assigned branch location and join a morning huddle with the team.
• Greet members as they enter the branch and serve as a resource for them.
• Meet with members to understand financial goals and educate them on products and services.
• Open accounts, complete loan applications, answer questions, and handle transactions.
• Attend the weekly 8:00 a.m. team meeting for updates and product news.
• Learn all credit union products through training and self-guided tools.
• Call members to check-in on new account activity and follow-up.
• Partner with the team to meet sales and referral goals.
• Serve as a mentor and positive role model for Tellers and Financial Specialists.
• Handle escalations to address critical member needs.
