Job summary

UW Credit Union in the Madison area is hiring a Spanish Bilingual Personal Banker (Financial Specialist) to serve members with financial guidance and consultative product recommendations. The role includes opening accounts, loan applications, and helping members achieve financial goals.

The training class starts January 4, 2027, with 12 weeks of onboarding and hands-on learning across virtual, classroom and branch settings. A $1.25/hour bilingual premium is offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of customer service and/or consultative sales experience.
• Strong analytical, accuracy and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop skills in a feedback-rich environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proven ability to build positive relationships and deliver top-notch service.
• Flexible, adaptable, coachable and collaborative in a changing environment.
• Natural ability to lead and influence others.
• Proficiency with personal computers and office software.
• Must obtain and maintain Notary Public certification.

Responsibilities

• Meet with members to understand goals and educate them on financial products and services.
• Open accounts, complete loan applications, answer questions and process transactions.
• Attend weekly team meetings and stay informed on branch updates.
• Learn credit union products through training and self-guided modules.
• Call members to check in and follow up on account activity.
• Partner with team to meet sales and referral targets.
• Serve as a mentor and role model for Tellers and Financial Specialists.
• Handle escalations to address member needs and concerns.
