Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements and show written preparation.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials aligned with TEA guidelines and learning styles.
• Assess student learning styles and use results to plan activities.
• Collaborate with special education to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Work with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through testing.
• Sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned by campus principal.
• Be a positive role model and support the district’s mission.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and safety.
• Manage student behavior in line with the Student Code of Conduct.
• Protect students and school property; safeguard equipment and materials.
• Assist in selecting books and instructional materials.
• Compile and maintain necessary reports and records.
