Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle is seeking an experienced welder to join the Operations team, focusing on GTAW welding of aluminum and aerospace alloys for flight hardware. You will work closely with engineers to ensure weld quality and repeatable spaceflight results.

The role requires interpreting drawings, using precision hand tools, and maintaining documentation, with a Monday-Thursday first shift and potential overtime. A strong commitment to safety and inclusion is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience with DC- and AC-TIG welding of aerospace stainless steels and aluminum alloys.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to document and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to use precision hand tools, standard mechanical tools and fabrication shop equipment.
• Ability to develop fixtures/tooling.
• Familiar with use of personal computers.
• Ability to support Monday through Thursday 1st shift (A shift) 5am - 3:30pm and additional weekend overtime as requested.
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

• Weld aerospace components using GTAW on aluminum and stainless steels to required tolerances.
• Interpret engineering drawings and verify weld quality.
• Support production and testing of spaceflight systems and document results.
• Perform maintenance on welding equipment and ensure safe working practices.
