Job summary

Blue Origin, a leader in space exploration, seeks an early-career test engineer to design, analyze, and operate test systems for fluid, propulsion, mechanical, and electronic subsystems; you will help integrate hardware into test facilities and lead risk assessments.

You will analyze data to verify requirements, develop test software, and resolve test-related issues while collaborating in a safety-focused, inclusive culture, starting Fall 2027.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or similar discipline, with graduation within the last year and able to start Fall 2027.
  • Experience with a testing environment and executing test procedures.
  • Relevant internship/co-op and/or hands-on experience showing technical and leadership development.
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive relationships and inclusive culture.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team on rapid development programs.
  • Flexible, adaptable, self-driven with initiative.
  • Advanced degree in mechanical/aerospace/electrical engineering or related field is desirable.
  • Familiar with LabVIEW, AutoCAD P&ID, Winplot, Windchill, Creo.
  • Experience with hazard and risk analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Aspects of applied test engineering including design, analysis, and operation of test systems for testing fluid, propulsion, mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Analyzing test data to support requirements verification tasks.
  • Directing integration of hardware into test facilities.
  • Conducting test planning, risk assessments, evaluation, mitigations, test setup, execution, post-test data review, and performance analysis.
  • Developing test support software and equipment to improve test frequency and quality.
  • Identifying, scoping, and resolving test-related problems.
