Job summary

Actalent in Pasadena, CA seeks a Quality Specialist to perform QA in an R&D environment focused on spaceflight hardware. You will inspect and release purchased, machined, fabricated, and assembled parts, read engineering drawings and GD&T, and support production with hands-on quality control.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, documentation, nonconformance handling, and collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience performing quality documentation: NCRs, tickets, inspection records.
• Hands-on receiving, in-process, first-article, and final inspections of machined/assembled hardware.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and ASME Y14.5 GD&T requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to program/operate CMM (prefer PC-DMIS).
• Experience with quality documentation in a manufacturing or R&D setting.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and GD&T to verify conformance.
• Review supplier inspection reports and certifications for completeness and accuracy.
• Document inspection results and create issue tickets/NCPs.
• Plan and schedule inspection work aligning with production priorities.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to resolve discrepancies.
