Job summary

Rocket Lab in Pasadena, CA is seeking a Quality Inspector III or Senior to inspect machined hardware, read drawings, and release parts to production, ensuring adherence to ASME Y14.5 GD&T. You will program and operate PC-DMIS, perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections, and collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing to resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical inspection experience in aerospace/defense/high-reliability environments.
• Experience programming and operating CMMs using PC-DMIS.
• Strong ability to read mechanical drawings and apply ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height/depth gauges).
• Experience documenting conformity and nonconforming conditions with clear records.
• Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Inspect precision machined parts, fabricated hardware, and assemblies against drawings and specs.
• Program and operate PC-DMIS to inspect complex parts and verify GD&T.
• Perform receiving, in-process, first-article, and final inspections using CMMs and hand tools.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and ASME Y14.5 GD&T requirements.
• Document inspection results and create nonconformance reports and tickets.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing to resolve discrepancies.
