Job summary

Trident Systems Space Electronic Systems (SES) division seeks a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a team of mechanical engineers in the development and delivery of spaceflight hardware. The role provides technical leadership, personnel management, and strategic direction to ensure programs are executed on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 12+ years of progressive engineering experience with at least 1+ year in technical leadership.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams through the product lifecycle.
• Experience developing and transitioning aerospace hardware to production.
• Strong mechanical design, structural and thermal analysis, manufacturing, and environmental testing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers for spaceflight hardware.
• Provide technical direction and oversight for mechanical system design.
• Plan resources across programs to meet schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate with electrical, software, firmware, and manufacturing teams for product readiness.
• Lead design reviews, technical reviews, and failure investigations.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and quality processes.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and tools.
