Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc. (AMA) of Hampton, VA is seeking an entry to early career Mechanical Engineer with experience in materials & processes and contamination control to support spaceflight hardware for the RSES contract onsite at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA.

The qualified candidate will develop hardware requirements, assess material choices, oversee contamination control during assembly, storage and testing, and communicate with engineering and management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or chemical engineering.
  • Experience with contamination control for spaceflight hardware.
  • Knowledge of aerospace materials and their processing and limitations.
  • Ability to work independently with strong communication skills.
  • US citizenship or permanent residence.

Responsibilities

  • Generate processes for contamination-sensitive spaceflight hardware across life cycle phases.
  • Assess hardware design for material selection and processing issues.
  • Develop reports, presentations and other documentation.
  • Generate contamination control procedures.
  • Understand acceptance standards for spaceflight hardware.
  • Participate in meetings and discuss design, analysis, and testing plans.
  • Oversee contamination prevention throughout life cycle phases.
