Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc. (AMA) of Hampton, VA is actively seeking an entry to early career level Mechanical Engineer with experience in both Materials & Processes and Contamination Control in support of spaceflight hardware.

The salary range for this position is $73,000 to $124,000 commensurate with education and experience. This onsite role supports the RSES contract at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or chemical engineering.
  • Experience with contamination control for spaceflight hardware.
  • Knowledge of aerospace materials, and their processes and limitations.
  • Ability to work independently under general direction.

Responsibilities

  • Generate processes for contamination sensitive spaceflight hardware across all life cycle phases.
  • Assess hardware design for material selection and processing applications.
  • Develop reports, presentations and other documentation.
  • Generate contamination control procedures.
  • Knowledge of acceptance standards for spaceflight hardware applications.
  • Attend meetings and discuss issues in design, analysis, qualification and acceptance plans.
  • Oversee contamination prevention through all life cycle phases.
