Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) in Hampton, VA, is seeking an entry to early career Mechanical Engineer with experience in Materials & Processes and Contamination Control to support spaceflight hardware for NASA Langley Research Center. You will help develop hardware requirements, assess materials, and oversee contamination control during assembly, storage, and testing.

The role is onsite at NASA Langley with U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or chemical engineering.
Experience with contamination control for spaceflight hardware.
Knowledge of aerospace materials, and their processes and limitations.
Ability to work independently under general direction.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
US citizenship or permanent residence.

Responsibilities

Generate contamination control processes for spaceflight hardware across life cycle phases.
Assess hardware design for material selection and processing implications.
Develop reports, presentations, and other documentation.
Generate contamination control procedures.
Attend meetings and discuss design, analysis, qualifications, and acceptance plans.
