Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or similar engineering field.
  • 7 years of experience in Integration and Test of aerospace systems.
  • At least 3 years of related experience with electromechanical systems, lab testing, or aerospace integration and test.
  • Detail knowledge and experience with AI&T for spaceflight applications.
  • Must be flexible in adapting to deadlines, changing schedules, competing priorities, and unpredictable events.
  • Thorough, detail oriented, and organized, with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Familiar with and able to present data and recommendations to a diverse audience of project managers, scientists, engineers, and technical staff.
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and independent thinker.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall assembly, integration, and test of projects, payloads, instruments, and technology demonstrators.
  • Serve as the central point of contact connecting mission systems, design engineers, software developers, and technicians.
  • Plan and implement AI&T with systems engineering and subsystem engineers to verify and validate.
  • Identify, procure, or facilitate fabrication of tooling and Ground Support Equipment.
  • Tailor the integration and test flow to mission and project needs and risk.
  • Create, review, implement, and approve AI&T procedures.
  • Ensure verifications and validations are included in procedures.
  • Perform inspections, review, assembly, integration, test, and closeout tasks.
  • Identify and deconflict tasks, deliverables, and schedule impacts.
  • Identify dispositions for non-conformances, issues, and failures.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software during AI&T.
  • Build End Item Data Packages with inspections, tests, and rework.
  • Support lab setup, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Coordinate trainings for engineers, technicians, and staff.
  • Ensure tooling/equipment is calibrated before AI&T.
  • Create lab safety plans meeting NASA requirements.
  • Facilitate packaging/shipping of spaceflight hardware and software.
  • Prepare monthly, milestone reports and reviews.
  • Interface with Government, contractors, and mission partners.
  • Some travel may be required to support mission and project partners.
