Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is seeking an Avionics Technician (PCBA Test) to perform electrical, thermal, and functional testing on spacecraft avionics hardware. You will collaborate with engineering and production to ensure flight-ready hardware and precise test execution.

Responsibilities include board-level testing, data collection, fault identification, and supporting test procedure refinement with engineering. A strong safety mindset and detail focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in ESD safety protocols and handling of flight avionics hardware.
• 2–5 years of hands-on electrical and thermal testing at board/subassembly level.
• Experience following procedures, work instructions, or test plans.
• Familiarity with electrical test equipment and sensors for measurements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to read engineering docs.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional and verification testing of avionics hardware at board level.
• Run electrical tests with meters, scopes, and data acquisition systems.
• Set up test fixtures, harnesses, and instrumentation for avionics tests.
• Follow procedures with strict configuration and revision control.
• Document anomalies and escalate findings to engineering as needed.
• Verify installation and calibration of sensors before tests.
• Collect and validate test data with traceability to hardware.
• Assist in debug, re-test, and procedure refinement with engineering.
• Maintain test logs, configurations, and reports per quality requirements.
