Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is seeking an Avionics Technician (PCBA Test) to perform electrical, thermal, and functional testing of spacecraft avionics hardware to verify performance and identify issues. You will collaborate with engineering and production to ensure flight-ready results.

The role requires hands-on test work with meters, scopes, DAQ systems, sensors, and strict adherence to procedures, documentation, and safety.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of hands-on electrical/thermal testing at board or subassembly level.
• Experience executing tests from procedures/work instructions in controlled environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical principles (voltage, current, resistance, continuity, signal behavior).
• Familiarity with RTDs, thermocouples or similar measurement devices.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional and verification testing of avionics hardware at the board level.
• Operate electrical test equipment to validate performance and identify faults.
• Set up and monitor test fixtures and instrumentation.
• Follow test procedures with strict configuration and revision control.
• Document test anomalies and escalate to engineering as needed.
• Verify sensor calibration and operation prior to test execution.
• Collect and validate test data with traceability to hardware.
• Support debug and re-test after modifications.
• Contribute to test procedure development with engineering.
