Job summary

Impulse Space, Inc. is seeking an Avionics Technician (PCBA Test) in Redondo Beach to perform electrical, thermal, and functional testing of spacecraft avionics hardware. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure flight-ready hardware and accurate test execution.

The role emphasizes testing from procedures, strict documentation, and data integrity, with opportunities to contribute to test development and optimization in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Requires proficiency in electrostatic discharge (ESD) safety protocols.
• 2–5 years of hands-on electrical and thermal testing at board or subassembly level.
• Experience executing tests from written procedures, work instructions, or test plans in a controlled environment.
• Working knowledge of electrical test equipment including multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and DAQ systems.
• Familiarity with instrumentation and sensors and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional and verification testing of avionics hardware at the board level.
• Execute electrical testing using multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and DAQ systems.
• Set up, operate, and monitor test fixtures, harnesses, and instrumentation.
• Follow test procedures with strict adherence to configuration and revision control.
• Identify and document test anomalies and elevate findings to engineering as needed.
• Verify installation, calibration, and operation of sensors prior to test execution.
• Collect and validate test data with traceability to tested hardware.
• Support debug and re-test activities after modifications.
• Assist in developing and refining test procedures with engineering.
• Maintain test logs, configuration records, and test reports.
