Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a qualified engineer to develop fault management and system autonomy architectures across mission phases. You will collaborate with SEIT and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-integrity spaceflight solutions.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical judgment, and adherence to the highest standards, while enabling safe, reusable spaceflight systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level or higher in a technical field relevant to aerospace systems.
  • Experience applying fault-tolerance architectures to safety- and mission-critical systems.
  • Knowledge of safety analyses such as FMECA, FTA, and FHAs.
  • Experience with autonomous system design, analysis, and testing.
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage fault management architectures and requirements.
  • Define redundancy architectures and fault containment regions.
  • Architect, design, and analyze autonomous behaviors, modes, and states.
  • Plan and execute Fault Management and Autonomy Verification & Validation efforts.
  • Monitor design, development, and test, driving process improvements.
