Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is seeking a Tooling Engineer to join the MGSE team. You will design, fabricate and validate tooling and fixtures used in spacecraft assembly, integration and test, producing detailed drawings and interface controls.

You will support AIT activities, ensure tooling meets program requirements, and contribute to trade-off studies for tooling architectures, while collaborating with engineers across disciplines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years designing tooling, fixtures, or GSE for spacecraft or aerospace manufacturing.
• Experience with tooling for AIT activities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and modeling of tooling, fixtures, jigs, and GSE for spacecraft assembly, integration, and test.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing drawings and interface control drawings for tooling and fixtures.
• Provide technical support to AIT activities including fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing of tooling and GSE.
• Ensure tooling designs meet program technical requirements and support architectural trade-offs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify best tooling architectures.
