Job summary

Impulse Space is seeking a Test Specialist in Redondo Beach to perform propulsion component and assembly testing and to develop and maintain advanced test equipment. You will collaborate closely with engineers to improve test processes across the company.

The role requires hands-on experience with high‑reliability propulsion systems, electrical and data acquisition, and the ability to troubleshoot and document results clearly. A flexible schedule and occasional travel are expected.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of propulsion or electronic assembly/test experience or a bachelor's in engineering.
• Deep knowledge of safe operation of pressure, electrical, power and data acquisition systems.
• Proficient with wiring and electrical systems.
• Proficient with fabricating and acquiring parts to build test capabilities from basic requirements with minimal direction from others.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems with fluid and electrical systems and implement scrappy solutions.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble and test high quality propulsion components and assemblies.
• Verify flight hardware and document results clearly and completely.
• Improve processes to enable automated acceptance testing.
• Respond to production non-conformances and drive root-cause resolution.
• Maintain process planning documents and provide feedback.
• Perform maintenance and calibration of automated testing equipment.
• Create 2D drawings from existing 3D models using standard specs.
• Provide training and guidance to other technicians.
