Job summary

Apex Space in Playa Vista, CA is seeking a Propulsion Test Technician to support hands-on testing of spacecraft propulsion hardware, including thrusters, flow controllers, and PPUs. You’ll set up, run, and tear down tests, operate test stands and vacuum chambers, and work closely with engineers to keep propulsion testing safe, reliable, and moving at production rate.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in test, lab, manufacturing, maintenance, or similar technical environment.
• Ability to read and follow technical procedures, schematics and instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Safety-first mindset around pressurized and high-voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Set up, execute, and tear down propulsion tests on thrusters, flow controllers, PPUs, and related hardware.
• Operate test stands, vacuum chambers, pumping systems, instrumentation, and data acquisition equipment.
• Install and remove test articles with fluid connections, sensors, and wiring.
• Perform pre-test checkouts to verify configuration and safety.
• Monitor hardware and instrumentation during testing and log results.
• Maintain test cells, tooling, equipment, and consumables for readiness.
• Troubleshoot equipment with engineers to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate test logs and maintenance history.
• Follow safety requirements for vacuum and high-voltage systems.
