Astranis is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineering Intern in Northern California to help build automated test infrastructure for satellite hardware. You'll work at the intersection of hardware and software, collaborating with engineers from design through verification in a lab or factory environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, CS, or related technical degree.
• Experience in electrical circuits, instrumentation, sensors, or data acquisition.
• Experience with embedded systems, PLCs, or industrial automation.
• Knowledge of control systems, state machines, or hardware/software integration.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Willingness to work in a lab or factory environment and perform hands-on hardware tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, build, integration, and commissioning of automated test systems for spacecraft hardware and ground-support equipment.
• Assist with electrical controls hardware, including control panels, wiring, sensors, actuators, relays, power distribution, DAQ systems, and safety interlocks.
• Collaborate with environmental test, mechanical, electrical, reliability, manufacturing, and software teams to build safe and repeatable test solutions.
