Job summary

Astranis Space Technologies Corp. is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineering Intern for Winter 2027 in Northern California.

You'll help build the automated test infrastructure used to stress satellite hardware during environmental testing, including electrical control systems, safety interlocks, and telemetry pipelines. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, reliability, manufacturing, and software teams while gaining hands-on experience in a lab or factory environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related technical degree.
• Experience in electrical circuits, instrumentation, sensors, or data acquisition.
• Experience in embedded systems, PLCs, or industrial automation.
• Experience in control systems, state machines, or hardware/software integration.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Willingness to work in a lab or factory environment and perform hands-on hardware tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, build, integration, and commissioning of automated test systems for spacecraft hardware and ground-support equipment.
• Assist with electrical controls hardware, including control panels, wiring, sensors, actuators, relays, power distribution, DAQ systems, and safety interlocks.
• Collaborate with environmental test, mechanical, electrical, reliability, manufacturing, and software teams to build safe and repeatable test solutions.
