Job summary

KBR is seeking a Spacecraft Subsystem SME to join the team in El Segundo, CA. The role involves technical leadership for ESS, coordination of subsystem designs, and ensuring interfaces between space vehicle and ground segments.

A Secret clearance is required, with TS/SCI a plus, and on-site work at LAAFB is expected. The candidate should have a BS in engineering or a technical field and extensive experience with spacecraft buses or subsystems, including space environments testing, and strong

Qualifications

Active Secret Clearance required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
15 years’ experience with spacecraft bus or subsystems (or 12 years with Master’s).
DOD or IC space experience preferred.
On-site work at LAAFB; remote work unavailable.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and assessment for the ESS Program Office in delivering the space vehicle areas (Mechanical, Electrical, or Test).
Lead trades for unit and subsystem designs; manage integration and testing into space vehicle bus and payload.
Ensure design interfaces within space vehicle and ground/terminal segments are coherent.
Support component/unit test programs and space qualification testing; develop test documentation.
