Northrop Grumman Corp. seeks a Principal or Sr. Principal Simulation Software Engineer to lead spacecraft simulation software development in a TS/SCI environment.

This onsite role in Dulles, VA emphasizes full software lifecycle, model development, and cross-functional integration across engineering teams. Candidates should have strong C/C++, Python, Matlab/Simulink skills and experience with OpenSceneGraph/OpenGL. Clear communication and CI practices are required; travel is limited.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree and security clearance (TS/SCI) to work on government projects.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python with experience in Matlab/Simulink.
• Experience with software development lifecycles and version control tools.
• Knowledge of OpenSceneGraph/OpenGL and 3D graphics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish simulation requirements and plan the full software lifecycle for spacecraft simulation.
• Develop spacecraft component models from hardware docs to support simulations.
• Integrate space vehicle models with other engineering disciplines and validate simulations.
• Develop and integrate simulation frameworks and GUI/visualization tools.
• Support real-time operations, analysis, and mission effectiveness studies.
• Document design status and results for internal/external customers.
