Job summary

Firefly Aerospace in Briggs, TX is seeking a motivated Spacecraft Test Technician I to support the Spectre propulsion engine and liquid propulsion testing. You will perform hands-on hardware preparation, test setup, equipment operation, and maintenance while developing expertise in hypergolic propulsion testing.

You will work with engineers to conduct hotfire tests, assist in engine conditioning and safing, and contribute to continuous improvement in test procedures and facility capabilities.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in aerospace, aircraft, R&D, or related fields.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals.
• Willingness to work flexible hours to meet testing demands.
• Familiarity with pressurized systems safety and propulsion test environments.

Responsibilities

• Support integration, instrumentation, and execution of hotfire tests for the Spectre propulsion engine and related systems.
• Set up, checkout, and operate ground support equipment for propellant transfer, pressurization, and safety systems.
• Assist engineers during propellant loading, engine conditioning, ignition sequences, and safing operations as procedures dictate.
• Follow, review, and provide feedback on complex mechanical work instructions.
• Clean and passivate hardware using chemical, mechanical, ultrasonic, and precision methods.
• Maintain equipment logs and participate in safety reviews and continuous improvement.
