Job summary

Firefly Aerospace in Briggs, TX seeks a motivated Spacecraft Test Technician to join our test operations team at the Briggs facility. This hands‑on role focuses on liquid propulsion testing and supporting the Blue Ghost lunar lander program.

You will work with engineers on spectre engine tests, including setup, instrumentation, and maintenance, ensuring safety and accuracy while building your aerospace testing expertise.

Qualifications

  • 7 years of experience in aerospace, R&D, or related fields.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals.
  • Associate degree or technical certification in a relevant field.
  • OSHA HAZWOPER certification or experience with hazardous materials.
  • Experience with propulsion test hardware and hypergolic testing.

Responsibilities

  • Support integration and execution of hotfire tests for the Spectre propulsion engine and related liquids.
  • Set up, checkout, and operation of ground support equipment including propellant transfer and safety systems.
  • Assist engineers during propellant loading, engine conditioning, ignition sequences, and safing per procedures.
  • Follow and provide feedback on work instructions for complex mechanical systems.
  • Clean and passivate hardware using solvent/chemical, mechanical, ultrasonic methods.
  • Deburr and polish aerospace fittings and components.
  • Maintain logs and maintenance records for equipment.
  • Support safety reviews and readiness activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of test procedures and facility capabilities.
