Job summary

Firefly Aerospace in Briggs, TX is seeking an experienced Propulsion Test Engineer to join our test operations team at our Briggs facility. You will lead hands-on liquid propulsion testing for the Spectre engine and support the Blue Ghost lunar lander program.

You will plan tests, manage instrumentation, mentor junior engineers, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while delivering mission-critical data.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering
• 5+ years hands-on liquid rocket propulsion test ops
• Experience leading liquid propulsion hotfire tests
• Strong understanding of propulsion subsystems
• Proficiency with fluid systems and leak detection
• Experience with data acquisition and instrumentation
• Ability to read P&IDs and engineering drawings
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead hotfire tests for Spectre engine and related systems
• Develop test plans and procedures for propulsion tests
• Serve as test conductor for operations and data acquisition
• Set up and operate ground support equipment and safety systems
• Execute propellant loading, ignition, and safing per procedures
