Job summary

Peraton seeks a junior-mid level Spacecraft Operations Controller to join our team at White Sands Complex, Las Cruces, NM. You will support mission operations for the LCRD payload, performing real-time commanding, telemetry verification, and health monitoring to ensure successful post-launch activities.

Responsibilities include real-time fault handling, software updates, and coordination across disciplines while rotating shifts as needed; travel up to 20% is required; active Top Secret clearance

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field; 2 years of related Ground/Satellite Operations experience; 4 years with no degree.
• 1+ years of experience with scripting languages and automated systems.
• 1+ years of operational experience in a virtual environment.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, projects, and personnel from diverse disciplines.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% in the first 12 months.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to access government worksite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for Mission Operations Team (MOT) functions for LCRD payload during post-launch power-on and testing at WSC.
• Perform real-time commanding and telemetry verification of the LCRD payload.
• Conduct real-time payload state of health evaluation, trending, and analysis for fault isolation and troubleshooting.
• Conduct payload flight software uploads, ensuring integrity of all products and commands.
• Support real-time anomaly investigation and follow LCRD fault escalation policies.
