Peraton Aerospace Spacecraft Operations Controller role in Las Cruces, NM, supports the LCRD program by executing real-time spacecraft payload commands, monitoring telemetry, and ensuring health and safety of orbital assets across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related fields with 2 years of direct satellite operations experience.
  • US Citizenship with active Top Secret/SCI eligibility or ability to obtain.
  • Rotating shifts including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.
  • Proven ability to follow technical procedures and emergency contingency plans.

Responsibilities

  • Real-Time Operations: console operator for satellite payload contacts.
  • Lifecycle Support: mission planning, preparation, execution, and evaluation including end-of-life disposal.
  • Data & Mission Analysis: task scheduling, data trending, performance analysis, anomaly resolution.
  • Documentation & Procedures: develop and maintain SOPs, on-console handbooks, support plans, OD and test plans.
  • Conflict Resolution: real-time resolutions to optimize acquisition, tracking, commanding, and telemetry for multiple customers.
  • Anomaly Response: implement anomaly response plans and generate anomaly reports.
  • Systems Evaluation: real-time evaluation of spacecraft, payload, and ground systems status.
  • Schedule & Shift Structure: rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
