Job summary

Peraton is seeking a junior-mid level Spacecraft Operations Controller for the Laser Communications Relay Demonstration program at White Sands Complex in Las Cruces, NM. You will join a team responsible for real-time mission operations, monitoring, and control of the LCRD payload from LMOC, including post-launch testing and on-orbit readiness.

The role requires coordinating multiple tasks, working in a virtual environment, and willingness to rotate shifts with travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 1+ years of experience with software scripting languages and development of automated systems.
• 1+ years of operational experience working in a virtual environment.
• Must be able to travel up to 20% in the first 12 months.
• Must have an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI.
• Must be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for Mission Operations Team functions for the LCRD payload during post-launch power-on and tests.
• Perform real-time commanding and telemetry verification of the LCRD payload.
• Perform real-time payload state of health evaluation, trending, and analysis.
• Conduct payload flight software uploads and verify integrity of loaded products and commands.
• Support real-time anomaly investigation and follow LCRD fault escalation policies.
• Participate in working group meetings, readiness tests, simulations and rehearsals for launch and on-orbit operations.
• Provide test engineering support by configuring interfaces, developing test procedures and scripts.
