Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Lead Spacecraft Mechanisms Technician to join a Commercial Space Technology company located in Western Texas through 100% onsite work. The Lead Mechanisms Technician will perform hands‑on mechanical assembly, integration, and testing of spacecraft mechanisms while leading junior technicians and supporting high‑rate satellite production.

Compensation includes a salary range of $90,000-$120,000, relocation bonus, and housing assistance.

Qualifications

• 5–15 years of experience with high‑reliability aerospace systems.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and following procedures.
• Familiarity with environmental testing (vibe, shock, TVAC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on assembly, integration, and testing of spacecraft mechanical subsystems.
• Build mechanism sub‑assemblies, actuators, hinges, deployment systems, and release devices.
• Integrate mechanical assemblies onto spacecraft structures and support testing.
• Lead complex operations and mentor junior technicians.
• Train lower‑level technicians in proper techniques and workmanship.
