Job summary

Qualifications

• 5 years of leadership or management experience.
• 10+ years in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in mechanical design and drafting for complex spacecraft systems.
• Strong experience with SolidWorks for 3D modeling and documentation.
• Hands-on mechanism design experience for high-reliability applications.
• Solid GD&T knowledge for precise drawings and manufacturing.
• Ability to perform mechanical analyses to validate performance and life.
• Experience supporting assembly and test activities in demanding environments.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to guide a small team.

Responsibilities

• Design and draft mechanical systems for spacecraft structures, MGSE, actuators, and mechanisms.
• Develop detailed parts designs meeting performance and environmental requirements.
• Perform analyses to satisfy hardware performance, life, and environmental conditions.
• Create 3D models and design documentation using CAD tools, focusing on SolidWorks.
• Support assembly and test activities, including qualification in relevant environments.
• Lead and mentor a team of ~3–5 engineers and designers.
• Collaborate with program managers on schedules, budgets, and timelines.
• Contribute to rapid iteration and learning from failures in hardware design.
• Work cross-functionally to integrate mechanical designs into the system.
