Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong 3D CAD skills to design and manage spacecraft hardware using Siemens NX and Teamcenter. You will work across disciplines to optimize designs, manage BOMs, and maintain data integrity in the PLM system.

The role involves extensive collaboration with mechanical, thermal, electrical, and manufacturing teams to ensure producibility and compliant drawings, while supporting change control and data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or 1+ years in engineering
• 3+ years of CAD experience in complex assemblies
• 1+ years in creating/manipulating complex mechanical designs
• 1+ years interfacing with multiple engineering disciplines

Responsibilities

• Create, iterate, and manage CAD designs for large spacecraft system databases
• Produce and release engineering drawings ensuring compliance with standards
• Manage CAD BOM through Teamcenter from design to manufacturing release
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, electrical, structural, manufacturing, metrology, tooling, assembly and test teams
• Interface with suppliers for CAD data packages and procurement-ready data
• Identify and review manufacturing sources for producibility improvements
• Support change management workflows and design data integrity in PLM
• Maintain CAD database organization and naming conventions
