Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Titusville, FL is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to plan and author procedures for the Orion Spacecraft Elements Team and provide floor support for TPS/mechanical/electrical environments.

You will create manufacturing work instructions, determine build sequences, apply producibility reviews, and maintain assembly documentation. Flexibility to work 2nd/3rd shifts during surge is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering preferred.
• Experienced in review of engineering drawings and as a floor liaison.
• Experience with configuration management practices and databases such as Windchill, EPDM, or similar.
• Willingness to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift during production surge.
• Experience and understanding of SAP (VE-CAMS) or similar for generating manufacturing work instructions and BOMs.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and reports; write reports and keep documentation.

Responsibilities

• Creates and develops manufacturing work instructions.
• Determines build sequence and selects tools; resolves production problems.
• Investigates design/manufacturing factors like availability and manufacturability.
• Develops and maintains all assembly documentation.
• Troubleshoots anomalies and discrepant hardware.
• Performs producibility reviews on designs for manufacturability.
• Interfaces with program personnel and reports status to leadership.
• Supports 2nd & 3rd shift during surge as needed.
