Job summary

Loft Orbital is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Lead to scale spacecraft production. You will lead the team while directly executing on the production floor, translating designs into repeatable manufacturing processes and driving continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with AIT, Design Engineering, Production Planning, Supply Chain, and Quality to develop work instructions, tooling, and processes that enable higher throughput without compromising flight hardware quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven technical leadership or mentorship while remaining hands-on in manufacturing.
• Strong hands-on understanding of hardware manufacturing and assembly processes including electronics, harness, bonding, mechanical assembly.

Responsibilities

• Act as a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer, supporting spacecraft assembly and production.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing process plans, work instructions, routings, BOMs, and production docs.
• Provide hands-on engineering support on the production floor to troubleshoot issues and remove blockers.
