Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking a Spacecraft Build Engineer to scale manufacturing processes and tooling for high-rate spacecraft builds. You’ll bridge design and production, owning how hardware is built, integrated, and moved into production across propulsion, avionics, and structure.

You will lead tooling design, process automation, and DFMA improvements to enhance yield, cycle time, and throughput in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing, materials, or related field.
• 3+ years in manufacturing, production, or process engineering for complex hardware.
• Experience with manufacturing process development and high-rate production environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing techniques (welding, machining, forming, fastening, bonding).
• Experience with tooling and fixture design using CAD (SolidWorks, NX, or similar).
• Experience with DF(M)A/DFM/DFMA.
• Hands-on assembly, integration, or testing of mechanical or aerospace systems.
• Able to troubleshoot and resolve production issues in fast-paced settings.
• Strong ownership mindset with cross-functional execution.

Responsibilities

• Own the development and qualification of manufacturing processes for spacecraft components and assemblies.
• Design and implement precision tooling and fixtures to improve quality and cycle time.
• Drive high-rate production by optimizing processes and throughput.
• Develop and automate manufacturing and inspection processes for better yield.
• Lead transition of hardware from development into production environments.
• Collaborate with design engineers on design for manufacturability and vehicle architecture.
• Troubleshoot issues with RCA and corrective actions.
• Reduce complexity, cost, and build time; support factory layout and scaling.
