Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead technicians through satellite offload, electrical testing, and battery charging for the Leo program in Merritt Island, FL. You will author work instructions, ensure compliance with system requirements, and drive continuous improvements in a fast-paced, aerospace environment.

You will work with engineering, quality, and launch teams, interpret technical requirements into actionable steps, and can expect travel up to 25% annually as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent.
• Ability to pass Kennedy Space Center background check.
• US work authorization required (citizenship/green card).

Responsibilities

• Plan material flow and manufacturing processes for satellite handling and testing operations.
• Adhere to safety requirements and procedures at all locations.
• Receive and test fully built Leo satellites in clean-room with ESD controls.
• Verify satellite health using ground systems and telemetry.
• Execute assigned work individually or with team to meet schedule.
• Define rigging diagrams and lift operations; validate lifting equipment.
• Coordinate with payload processing facility commissioning and setup validation.
• Improve takt time and document work instructions and processes.
• Resolve anomalies and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain calibration of ground equipment and tooling; collaboration for process improvements.
• Perform other duties to ensure safe, efficient operations; obtain necessary licenses.
