Job summary

Amazon Leo is building a high-performance space-based internet system at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. As Lead Equipment Mechanic, you will install, commission, and maintain critical electrical, control, and crane systems to support spacecraft integration and production readiness.

You will lead a maintenance team, develop preventative programs, collaborate with engineering, and ensure on-time hardware delivery while upholding strict safety and export control requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment; PLC-controlled automation and troubleshooting in production environments.
• Experience developing solutions and executing plans on complex projects.
• At least 3 years troubleshooting material handling equipment (MHE).
• Experience with preventive maintenance, industrial electrical/controls/electronics & robotics.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical and control systems; troubleshoot related equipment.
• Develop, document, and implement solutions to difficult problems with urgency.
• Maintain and troubleshoot overhead cranes, electrical systems, and propellant loading equipment.
• Develop and improve Preventative and Breakdown Maintenance for equipment supporting operations.
• Work with engineering and operations on design feedback, commissioning, and ongoing operations.
