Job summary

Varda Space Industries is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to scale production of spacecraft electromechanical assemblies, from wire harnessing to actuator integration. You’ll own processes at the intersection of electrical and mechanical systems, drive improvements, and write robust work instructions.

The role requires experience with high-reliability aerospace manufacturing, DFx feedback, and collaboration with payload design engineers to ensure quality and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3–6+ years in high-reliability electromechanical assembly manufacturing.
• Experience reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and connector pinouts.
• Experience with wire harness fabrication and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
• Ability to implement DFx and lead root-cause investigations.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end manufacturing and assembly processes for payload systems.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, travelers, and test procedures.
• Serve as primary interface translating customer requirements into processes.
• Implement contamination control and cleanliness protocols for flight hardware.
• Collaborate with design engineers on DFM/DFX and testability.
• Define payload acceptance testing and traceable build records.
• Lead root-cause analysis and MRB dispositions with cross-functional teams.
