Apex Technology, Inc. seeks a Space Simulation Test Engineer in Playa Vista to lead environmental test campaigns for spacecraft and components. You’ll design, execute, and manage vibration, thermal cycling, TVAC, EMI/EMC, and pneumatic tests, ensuring reliability across spaceflight life cycles.

The role requires 3+ years in aerospace environmental testing, familiarity with MIL-STD standards, and strong data analysis, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in environmental testing within the aerospace industry.
• Strong knowledge of aerospace testing standards and regulations (MIL-STD-461, GSFC-STD-7000, SMC-S-016, MIL-STD-810).
• Experience operating and maintaining environmental testing equipment.
• Experience with instrumentation used during environmental testing (thermocouples, accelerometers, DAQs).
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsabilités

• Develop, execute, and manage test plans for environmental testing incl. vibration, thermal cycling, TVAC, EMI/EMC, and pneumatic tests.
• Set up, maintain and troubleshoot environmental testing equipment.
• Analyze test data, interpret results, and generate comprehensive reports.
• Support production and qualification testing with functional checks.
• Collaborate with production, design, and quality assurance to resolve issues.
• Continuously improve testing processes for accuracy and efficiency.
• Provide technical support and guidance to engineers and technicians.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
