Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking an Avionics Test Engineer to develop test hardware, infrastructure, and platforms for spacecraft avionics. You will work with electrical, mechanical, RF, software, and systems engineers to ensure hardware meets specifications across development, qualification, and production.

This hands-on role requires owning technical work, direct interaction with flight hardware, and influence over testing at scale. Location is Playa Vista, CA with strong growth prospects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 5+ years in aerospace hardware, avionics, or hardware testing.
• Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation and hardware bring-up.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and interface docs.
• Strong problem-solving and independent issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Own design, build, integration, and maintenance of bus-level avionics test racks and harnesses.
• Develop FlatSats and avionics testbeds including interfaces and emulators.
• Lead hardware integration activities: harnessing, fixturing, and interface validation.
• Define test architecture with cross-disciplinary teams (electrical, mechanical, RF, software).
• Troubleshoot flight hardware and test setups using lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, VNAs, DAQ).
• Perform hardware bring-up, interface validation, and end-to-end system checkout.
• Develop fixtures and test electronics as needed; support qualification testing.
