Our client in California is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, build, test, and qualify deployment hardware for a spacecraft reflector. You will own complex mechanical systems from concept through flight-ready delivery, with emphasis on mechanisms that survive launch and deploy reliably in orbit.

The role requires hands-on CAD (SolidWorks/CATIA/NX/Creo/Fusion 360), experience with deployable structures or precision assemblies, and collaboration across engineering teams. Equity is offered.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Aerospace/Industrial Engineering.
• Strong CAD experience with SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Creo or Fusion 360.
• Experience owning deployable mechanisms or precision mechanical assemblies.
• Spacecraft deployment or aerospace mechanism experience preferred.

Mansioni

• Design and develop reflector deployment mechanisms for spacecraft applications.
• Own hardware through concept development, CAD design, prototyping, testing, qualification, and integration.
• Design deployable structures, hinges, latches, actuators, and motion systems.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, and assemblies.
• Evaluate structural performance, vibration, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing.
• Ensure hardware withstands launch loads and operates in space.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and cross-functional teams to resolve design challenges.
