Job summary

Redwire Space Enterprises in Goleta, CA is seeking a Contract Staff Mechanical Engineer for up to 6 months with a potential permanent path. You will create SolidWorks models and drawings, lead deployable solar array design, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on spaceflight programs.

Ideal candidates hold a Mechanical or Aerospace degree, with GD&T and ERP experience, and a track record with electromechanical systems; U.S. citizenship is required for program eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Mechanical or Aerospace; Master’s preferred.
• Experience with electromechanical systems, photovoltaics, composites.
• SolidWorks with large assemblies, PDM and ERP experience.
• GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and tolerance analysis capabilities.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain DOD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D solid models using SolidWorks for space flight programs.
• Apply engineering principles to meet all requirements.
• Create, maintain, and release drawings per ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Lead the design and development of deployable solar arrays.
• Interface with multi-disciplinary teams to optimize designs.
• Generate documentation, reports and presentations of results.
