Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Communication Systems Responsible Engineer within the spacecraft Avionics team to lead the design and integration of communications subsystems for in-space architectures. You will decompose requirements, manage interfaces, and contribute to safety artifacts while coordinating with test and integration teams.

You will perform analyses and simulations (link budgets, coverage, RF) and guide V&V activities, drawing on experience with RF components, modulation schemes,

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical area
• 5+ years of experience in communication systems or RF testing
• Experience delivering communications systems for spacecraft applications
• Experience integrating communication systems into larger systems with interfaces like RS-422, Ethernet, SpaceWire, HDLC
• Experience developing RF simulations and analyzing link budgets and coverage

Responsibilities

• Develop Communication system design for in-space architectures
• Allocate and decompose higher level functions to the Communications Subsystems
• Support system requirements management and ConOps development
• Maintain analyses and simulations for Communications Subsystem including link analysis and performance
• Coordinate with Integration & Test teams for test facilities and V&V activities
• Define vehicle-level interfaces and safety artifacts
• Mentor early career systems engineers
