Job summary

Astranis invites an Avionics Intern for Summer 2027 to join our avionics engineering team in California. This twelve-week, hourly internship offers hands-on work on hardware and software that may ship to space, with opportunities to contribute to challenging projects regardless of seniority.

Interns design, test, and debug hardware, write evaluation code, and gain exposure to spacecraft subsystems. US citizenship or equivalent status is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in electrical or computer engineering.
• Experience with Python and/or C++.
• Hands-on hardware design and testing experience.
• U.S. Citizenship, permanent residency, or protected status required.

Responsibilities

• Work with the avionics engineering team to build and test flight hardware.
• Design test equipment to validate designs across a wide range of stressed conditions.
• Bring up and debug designs in the lab.
• Write code to help evaluate performance and automate testing of satellite hardware.
• Assist with low level software to interface with various spacecraft subsystems.
