Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Physics, Radiation Protection, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of radiation safety in aerospace, defense, or high‑reliability operations.
• Experience developing or administering radiation safety programs for X‑ray equipment in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of federal/state radiation control requirements and practical shop‑floor controls.
• Experience with radiation surveys, dosimetry, shielding, and emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage the radiation protection program for X‑ray equipment inspecting propulsion welds.
• Lead the X‑ray inspection program from concept to production release, including shielding and access controls.
• Develop procedures, training, maintenance records, and audit processes using ALARA.
• Coordinate regulatory registrations, permits, and inspections; serve as primary regulatory contact.
• Define dosimetry and monitoring requirements; manage records and investigations.
