Job summary

You will join the safety team to protect personnel and facility during design, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning.

The role emphasizes hazard identification, risk mitigation, compliance with DOE standards, and collaboration with engineering, radiation protection, and facilities teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in safety management on large construction or complex technical projects.
• Familiarity with DOE O 413.3B or equivalent safety standards.
• DOE/nuclear/accelerator facilities experience preferred.
• Strong communication and cross-team coordination skills.
• Field and planning/documentation capability.

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, and mitigate hazards across construction, industrial, electrical, radiological, and hazardous-material work.
• Review work packages and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for planning and control.
• Conduct field safety walkthroughs, observations, and readiness verifications.
• Participate in engineering/design and readiness reviews.
• Develop and maintain safety documentation (procedures, plans, hazard analyses).
• Support regulatory compliance and DOE oversight reviews.
• Investigate incidents/near misses and drive corrective actions and lessons learned.
• Collaborate with safety, radiation protection, engineering, and facilities teams.
