Qualifications

• 5+ years of radiation safety or related experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated high-reliability operations.
• Experience developing, implementing, or administering a radiation safety program for X-ray-generating equipment in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local radiation-control requirements and translating them into shop-floor controls.
• Experience with radiation surveys, shielding, dosimetry, exposure assessment, and emergency response.
• Ability to communicate radiation risk clearly to technicians, engineers, leadership, regulators, and emergency personnel.

Responsabilités

• Build, implement, and maintain the company radiation protection program for X-ray equipment used to inspect propulsion welds and flight hardware.
• Lead the X-ray inspection program from concept through production release, including equipment selection, facility layout, shielding, interlocks, and readiness reviews.
• Develop and control radiation safety procedures, instructions, and audit processes using ALARA principles.
• Coordinate registrations, licenses, and regulatory correspondence for radiation-producing equipment; act as primary contact for inspections.
• Establish monitoring requirements and manage dosimetry, area monitoring, calibration, and recordkeeping.
