Job summary

AeroVironment in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for a 12-week, on-site summer program. The role supports electro‑mechanical design, assemblies, and testing within aerospace/defense projects, reporting to the mechanical engineering lead. Applicants should be in 2nd or 3rd year of a 4-year program with a 3.0+ GPA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year university.
• Desire to pursue a career in Mechanical engineering for Aerospace and defense systems.
• Strong interest in aerospace/defense applications and mechanical design.
• Experience with SolidWorks CAD software and FEA tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supporting mechanical design activities of various projects including modeling electro‑mechanical systems, electrical enclosures, opto‑mechanical systems, etc.
• Supporting system assembly, integration, and test of the above hardware
• Assist other engineers in creating and updating SolidWorks models and drawings.
