Job summary

Socket.dev in Colorado Springs, CO, seeks a Mid-Level System Test Engineer to join the Space Systems Test & Integration team on the IRES contract. You will guide verification, validation, integration, and mission readiness across complex satellite ground system environments.

This role requires hands-on space-ground systems experience, test automation, and DevSecOps pipelines, with coordination across vendors, engineering teams, and government stakeholders in secure DoD environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years of general (full-time) work experience.
• Minimum 3+ years in complex enterprise IT system testing and integration.
• Experience with enterprise IT infrastructure (servers, networks, storage, virtualization, services).
• Proven ability to author comprehensive test plans and lead test campaigns.
• Experience designing or executing test automation solutions.
• Experience coordinating across vendors, engineering teams, Agile environments, and government stakeholders.
• Active DoW Secret Security Clearance.
• Familiar with Agile practices and secure development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute system-level test strategies, plans, and verification artifacts.
• Provide technical guidance to ensure test standardization and performance targets.
• Coordinate test activities across vendors, engineering teams, Agile groups, and government stakeholders.
• Manage the Integrated Master Test Schedule for DT/OT events and readiness reviews.
• Conduct functional, integration, regression, performance, cybersecurity, and end-to-end testing.
• Validate software builds, configurations, and changes to enterprise components.
• Test IT infrastructure including servers, networks, storage, virtualization, and services.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Apply DevSecOps/DevOps principles to infrastructure as code and automated deployments.
• Document anomalies, lead defect triage, and coordinate resolution across teams.
• Produce test reports, readiness assessments, and technical briefings for leadership.
